I have been working in the St. Paul school system for 13 years, 5 years as an educational assistant in a Learning Center at Webster Elementary and 8 years as an E/BD teacher at Battle Creek Elementary school. I received my Master's of Education from Bethel University in 1999. I have been drawn to work in the smaller educational environment that a Learning Center provides because as a teacher I enjoy being able to build strong relationships with kids and be able to provide more small group and individualized instruction.
As an educator, I believe that all students can learn and succeed. My goal is to work together with other staff and families to provide the most positive learning environment possible for my students. A place where children feel safe, cared for and know that they can be successful. I believe that it is critical to hold all students to high standards both behaviorally and academically. I expect that all students in my class will always give their best effort and remind them that this effort will be reflected in their academic progress.
