School Setting
Battle Creek Elementary Environmental Magnet
is located next to Battle Creek Park. The park contains woods, grassy
areas and wetlands. Students have the opportunity to examine the
ecosystems, observe wildlife, examine plant life, and explore the area
on foot and on cross county skiis. The importance of developing problem
solving and decision making skills in determining human actions is
stressed.
School Climate
Battle Creek provides a
safe, supportive, learning environment in which all children are valued

are expected to take
responsibility for their learning behavior as outlined in the St. Paul
School Student Conduct Guide. Student's achievements are recognized
within the classroom and at monthly award assemblies.
School Staff
The
staff of Battle Creek is well prepared to fulfill its mission. More
than 75% of the teachers hold advanced degrees. Every faculty member is
fully licensed by the state of Minnesota. In addition, the faculty
includes four teachers who have earned National Board of Teaching
Certification.
