| Spring is almost here!
Spring (the vernal equinox) officially starts on March 20th, 2006 at 12:26 p.m. Where will you be at that time?
At Battle Creek Elementary we are already seeing early signs of
spring. The snow is melting and the daylight hours are much longer.
Daylight hours are long enough now to have time to play outside
after school! For several weeks now staff and students have been
greeted at the entrance to the school by the early morning
"what-cheer,cheer, cheer" of the Northern Cardinal. If you listen
closely you may also hear the Black Capped Chickadees singing their
morning "fee...bee.." call. Gray squirrels can be seen chasing each
other around and very soon we will see flocks of returning Canada Geese
flying and honking overhead.
